Township of King
A Strong Voice for a Better Future in King.
01
Thoughtful Development
King is experiencing rapid growth, which is only expected to accelerate in the coming years. Some development we have seen in recent years have had a negative impact on the residents of King. This cannot continue. It is our responsibility to ensure future development is thoughtful in design and execution. I will ask the tough questions, stand up for better decision making, ensure residents concerns are heard and seriously considered, and will hold people accountable, including myself, when expectations are not met.
03
Better Value for Taxpayers
The property taxes we pay in King are some of the highest in York Region. Some may say this is the price of living in a prestigious municipality like King, and there may be some truth to those comments. In recent years however, the services, amenities, and value that King Township residents receive have not matched the taxes that residents pay. Through financial prudence and transparency, better decision making, efficient use of resources, and promoting a pro-active approach to all matters handled by the Township, I aim to bring value back to all tax payers.
02
Protecting the Character of King
Most of us moved to King because of its rural landscape, it's small town community, and the peacefulness that this environment provided. Unfortunately, most of these elements have been dis-regarded in recent years and as such, the character of King, that we all love, is being lost. It is not too late to preserve what character remains and to creatively restore what character has been lost. Through my abilities, along with my personal and professional experiences, I am committed to preserving the character of King while planning responsibly for its future.
04
Safer Streets and Communities
Many of us have directly or indirectly been impacted by the rising crime and theft rates in our community, along with the added traffic travelling throughout our neighbourhoods. I will strive to make our communities a safer place to live, work, and play, by proposing a multi-pronged approach that will involve the community, the Township, and York Regional Police. All residents deserve the right to a safe neighbourhood, and with persistent and ongoing engagement by all, we can regain our streets and our safety.
